Hey …,
I must tell you about my latest acquisition, the Seiko 5 Sports SRPK17K1 Limited Edition! It is the absolute hammer! It celebrates the 55th anniversary of Seiko and is a reissue of the very first Seiko from 1968. You can’t imagine how hard it was to get it. But now I finally have it and I show it to you here in the video!
This watch is really the madness. It looks so retro that you think you are in the 60s. They even used the old Seiko logo from back then. Of course, I would have been even more excited if they had made the dial completely as it used to be, 1 to 1, but that’s complaining on a high level. The old watch says “Water 70 Proof” and “25 Jewels” at the bottom, while the new watch says “Automatic 24 Jewels & 10 Bar”. Some changes they could have done better for sure, but hey, the watch just looks mega. The price of 410 € is also really fair.
I bought two of them, because I was born in 1968. One Seiko 5 Sports SRPK17K1 Limited Edition I will raffle and the other one will go in my store. If you are interested, you can stop by there. There will also be a third watch that I will sell as well if I get any left. So that’s the start of this summer celebrating Seiko’s 55th anniversary. There will even be three more watches coming out in September with different designs and colors to tie in with the 1969 models. I’m already very excited about this!

Now let’s be honest, the price is really top for a limited edition, and the original logo was revived especially for this. The “Sports” lettering at the bottom is also reminiscent of the old watches. The bracelet is of high quality and has been completely redesigned to be as similar to the original as possible. It’s really amazing that they were able to pull off all these details so well. The watch also has a classic folding clasp that you can easily adjust.
Before I forget, the watch of course comes with a nice packaging. The watch itself comes in a cool box that protects it perfectly. It looks simply stunning in macro mode. The curved Hardex glass is also a nice detail. Sure, I would have liked sapphire crystal, but at a price of €400, you can’t have everything. Still, the nostalgia of this watch is definitely worth the price.
The back of the Seiko 5 Sports SRPK17K1 Limited Edition shows the serial number and the indication of the limited edition. It is really a real eye-catcher. What do you guys think of it? Personally, I think it is the Seiko of the year. Price, performance, nostalgia – everything is just right. And I have to be honest, I didn’t have this watch on my radar at all. By chance I came across it and was immediately blown away.
