The young watch brand OVD Watches from Hong Kong surprises 2021 with a very special watch project on Kickstarter. The Moon Walker II Lunar Crater is all about the moon and picks up the lunar missions spectacularly in its design.
But that’s not all: a small part of a meteorite is built into each of the automatic watches. All other materials are completely in the sense of functionality.

The moon has always fascinated us. This has not changed to this day. In 2022, for the first time in 50 years, people could set foot on the earth’s satellite again to unravel the last mysteries. The Lunar Crater is the automatic watch par excellence that combines enthusiasm for the moon, the unknown and the milestones of space travel in one design – in other words, a real moon watch.
Inspired by the spacecraft of the Apollo program, the Lunar Crater stands out with its unique and original design that has never been seen before. The center of the space design is a 3D miniature of the moon that comes to life at night. The coating with green Swiss SuperLuminova conjures up moonlight on the wrist – so that the time can always be read, even in the dark.
But the heart of the Lunar Crater is the real meteorite. It is Swedish Muonioalusta. This rare material is literally from another star and struck the earth ages ago. With the meteorite in the caseback, you carry with you a fragment that has been traveling in space for millions of years.
The Lunar Crater is not the first timepiece from OVD Watches dedicated to the theme of space travel. Accordingly, the experience has grown to construct stunning design at the highest level. The materials used are of the best quality – the streamlined sapphire crystal, a reliable Japanese SII NH70A automatic movement. Everything was manufactured and assembled using high-tech processes.
At the same time, each design element has a special function. The sapphire crystal has anti-reflective coatings, the leather strap has special quick-release spring bars, and the moonlight illuminates the Lunar Crater at night. Out of attention to detail, OVD Watches embeds the Lunar Crater in a high-quality box with a rock pattern. Thus, even the unboxing becomes a real event.
The first hurdles have been overcome. Now it is time to reach the first campaign goal of HK$100000 on Kickstarter. The first model is available at the early bird price of 3480$. The Lunar Crater is sponsored by Jellop, which has already been able to launch over 1100 successful Kickstarter projects.
