Casio Watches is celebrating its 50th anniversary by reissuing the very first wristwatch that CASIO launched in 1974. The CASIOTRON QW02 was the world’s first digital watch with an automatic calendar function. The new TRN-50 represents half a century of commitment to originality and innovation and will be available worldwide in a limited edition of 4,000 pieces.
The new TRN-50 remains true to the CASIOTRON concept of a fully automatic wristwatch and boasts all the advances in CASIO watch development over the past half century since the original model was released. The CASIOTRON design has been retained, with the new watch incorporating state-of-the-art features such as radio-accurate time setting and Mobile Link functions for pairing with a smartphone.

The original case of the watch, including its size, has been carefully reconstructed and features a design that meets today’s quality standards. Many details, such as the refined case and bracelet structures, the dark blue dial and the CASIOTRON logo have been faithfully reproduced.
In addition to receiving time calibration signals transmitted from six stations around the world, the new watch is also particularly practical with its easy-to-read Super-Twisted-Nematic (STN) LCD and Tough Solar charging system. The vision of the original CASIOTRON lives on in the new TRN-50.
