Two years after the brand Le Forban Sécurité Mer was relaunched with the release of 2 neo-vintage inspired diver’s watches – La Malouine and La Brestoise (you can read my reviews here and here), the French company has added a new accessory to its range – a NATO style strap in rubber, available in black or chocolate.
“The popularity of NATO straps continues to grow: people love the sporty-chic look, the ease of fitting and the durability. We already offer a NATO in leather for those who like straps with an attractive patina, but we didn’t have the definitive NATO, one which matched the DNA of our divers, offering optimal water resistance”, explains the brand’s owner – Jean-Sebastien Coste. The new slim, supple, high-quality, rubber NATO makes up for this lack and is, moreover, both rather elegant and extremely comfortable to wear.
“We called upon a small family company located in Italy, specialised in the manufacture of rubber watchstraps. They have developed their own formula, which is a closely guarded secret!” smiles Jean-Sebastien. The buckle in 316L steel is engraved with ‘Le Forban’ and the iconic anchor logo is deep-stamped at the end of the strap. All in all, a rather handsome addition to company’s range, which will be followed, in the Spring, by two major releases – a new model called ‘La Rochelaise’ and a much-awaited Le Forban Sécurité Mer steel bracelet.
