As the latest addition to the iconic MR-G line, G-SHOCK today celebrates the launch of the MRG-B5000R. The model comes in the familiar design of the very first G-SHOCK from 1983 and features a strap made of soft Dura-Soft.
The MR-G line is based on the concept of creating the “ultimate rugged watch”. It is the premium collection of the G-SHOCK brand, combining cutting-edge technology and masterful metalworking techniques. In 2022, the MRG-B5000 was the first MR-G to be launched in the classic octagonal design. The watch features a bezel with a Multi-Guard structure consisting of 25 individual parts, which enables precise polishing. The MRG-B5000R is made from high-quality materials such as COBARION® and features a super-hard alloy that is refined by masterful polishing.
The new Casio G-SHOCK MRG-B5000R-1
The new MRG-B5000R builds on the MRG-B5000 and is equipped with a soft, comfortable Dura-Soft strap and is suitable for both formal occasions and sporting activities. The Dura-Soft strap is highly resistant to discoloration, stains and wear. Titanium components increase the strength of the connection between the strap and the case. The strap has a soft, comfortable texture that offers a firm fit on the wrist even during demanding activities. The high-quality titanium safety clasp completes the stylish design.
The color design of the MRG-B5000R pays homage to the color scheme of the DW-5000C-1B, the gold-colored version of the very first G-SHOCK from 1983. The case features a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, while the side pushers have a gold IP finish. The dial also features gold accents. The strap features textured patterns that echo the design motifs of the first G-SHOCK – including the “SHOCK RESIST” symbol and the brick pattern in the display. The watch takes design elements from the original model, but combines the characteristic G-SHOCK robustness and beauty in a look all of its own.
