Thanks to the combination of a slim module and a shock-resistant structure, G-SHOCK has managed to create a watch that is more than two millimeters slimmer than its predecessor, the MTG-B1000.
G-SHOCK MTG-B3000
Casio has developed the slimmest module to date for a G-SHOCK solar chronograph with the new MTG-B3000. The minimized design is due to the optimal use of modern technologies and the most precise assembly. To accommodate the all-new shock-resistant structure, G-SHOCK makes use of an advanced Dual Core Guard structure. This newly developed Guard structure protects the module with a carbon reinforced resin case and encloses the exterior with metal components, preserving the look and texture of the metal while reducing weight.
Repeated pressing, cutting and polishing processes create a stainless steel caseback that encloses the case in a 3D shape. The raised sides protect the crown and buttons and serve as lugs for attaching the strap. All these innovative designs and technologies result in a unique watch with a case that is only 12.1 millimeters high and extremely comfortable to wear.
As for the functions, the MTG-B3000 has radio signal reception and Bluetooth® technology. With the help of the CASIO WATCHES app, the watch automatically sets itself to the correct time, among other things. Thanks to the G-SHOCK Tough Solar System, the watch charges itself independently in low-light conditions, conserving energy. In addition, the watch has a bright and correspondingly practical LED light.

I am already very excited the new MTG looks on the wrist. Whether thinner also equal better will then show. For me, the “thick” design was always part of it, after all, they are tough watches, so says G-SHOCK itself. But the first photos look really great, I must immediately think of Transformers in the cutouts, do not even know why.
