The Brand
is a fusion between “Samurai”, which for us represents the past, and “Mirai” which means future in Japanese. This is our way of combining the traditional viewing of Japan with a modern twist. The black triangle logomark symbolizes Mount Fuji, the iconic Japanese volcano. Although, I know a cone would be more accurate based on the shape of this volcano. We chose to darken the red color from the Japanese flag into Windsor Wine as our “signature color”. This color is shown as a contrasting stripe in the middle of the triangle logomark.

The Japanese word for Japan is pronounced Nihon or Nippon and literally means “the origin of the sun”. We decided to name our watch ORIGIN 1, as a homage to the Japanese culture and hopefully the beginning of a new Era of AMURAI watches.
The watch is (Swiss) made of 316L stainless steel and treated with black Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) to harden the watch, making it more resistant to shocks and scratches. We named the color Absorbing Black, since very little color is left visible on the watch. The watch includes a 43 mm x 52,3 mm case with a thickness of 11 mm, weighing in at almost 200 grams (with bracelet). Lug width is 22/20 mm. The striking bezel is polished and the bezel ring is brushed. Inside the watch you’ll find an analog quartz movement from Ronda’s 700 series (703 to be exact). The watch is water resistant up to 50 meters (5ATM) so perfect for everyday life, unless you are a fish.
The watch has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Behind the crystal shows a distinctive black dial with applied Gunmetal colored indexes with brushed and polished finish. Our triangle logomark with the Windsor Wine stripe is placed at twelve o’clock. The shiny minute and hour hands in matching Gunmetal color represent the daisho (literally “big-little” in Japanese) and consist of the notorious katana and the shorter wakizashi sword. Our signature color is also used on the second hand, making it stand out on the watch dial.
The watch case back is engraved with; ORIGIN 1, SWISS MADE, SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL, model number with individual numbering and in the middle with a big AMURAI logotype. The watch either comes with a 316L stainless steel bracelet in black DLC and brushed finish, or if you prefer a sportier look with a black nylon strap with black stitching and leather details. They both come with a double fold deployant clasp with push button. The clasp on the bracelet is engraved with the triangle logomark, and the clasp used with the nylon strap is engraved with the AMURAI logotype.

Our mission is to design and create great products that aside from making our fellow humans look good in them also lets them help, and be beneficial to, someone else.
We believe that every human being deep down in his or her core wants to do good when being presented an opportunity. Just like the Samurai most of us have a code of honor, a Bushido, that helps us steer through life with a compass. But life itself could be such a fragile thing, and many of us doesn’t get the time to learn how to fully navigate that compass.
With AMURAI watches we want to create fashionable accessories that tells time, and that also gives time to others less fortunate.
To make this happen we chose to involve WaterAid. They are a non-profit who started in 1981 determined to make clean water, reliable toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Japan joined WaterAid in 2013 and is currently one of the largest water- and sanitation donor in the world. So, we decided to join the band.
